About truthchurch.tv

After surrendering His life to Christ in 1999, Gary Tucker was immediately delivered from alcohol abuse. His life literally changed overnight. Outside of work, the majority of his time was spent studying the Bible, spending time in prayer, and volunteering at his newfound church home, Faith Assembly of God, in Summerville, SC. He eventually was given the responsibility of leading a home group for Faith Assembly of God and would teach at various men’s ministry events. From his early days of Christianity, Gary recognized a disconnect from how Jesus said we were supposed to live and how many Christians chose to live. During his study and prayer times, he sensed a call to become a defender of the truth. His love for the word and desire to be used by the Holy Spirit eventually led him to answer that call. Two years after his conversion experience, Gary resigned his position with Honeywell Technology Solutions in Charleston, SC and moved to Columbus, OH to attend Valor Christian College. At Valor, he attended a 2-year Biblical program with a concentration on Pastoral and Church Leadership. After graduating with a 3.8 GPA, Gary moved back to Charleston, SC to serve as a full-time assistant to the Discipleship Pastor at Faith Assembly of God. Through the process of time, he would go on to serve as a singles pastor, outreach coordinator, youth pastor, and eventually take the role as the lead pastor at Faith Assembly of God’s Remount Road campus.

The Remount Campus is a multicultural campus, located in an urban district in North Charleston, SC. In addition to typical pastoral responsibilities, Gary oversaw several outreach events and instituted a food bank that continues to feed hundreds of people every month. More importantly, he has witnessed the transformative power of the Holy Spirit change people from the inside out and set them on a new course in life.

After serving with Faith Assembly of God for 13 years, Gary along with his wife, Shelley made the difficult decision to step down from Faith Assembly of God to take a year-long sabbatical from ministry. Twelve months later, Gary and Shelley have a renewed sense of purpose and feel the call to be defenders of truth more than ever before.

the truth shall set you free

Secular society has as always rebelled against a biblical world view. That is to be understood. What is not understood, however, is how the church in many cases have allowed the secular world view to make its way into our belief system. If Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever, and the Word of God never changes, then our beliefs and teachings should also never change. Our goal at truthhurch.tv is not to offend for the sake of offending, for that would be counterintuitive to the message of Christ. However, when it comes to the doctrines of Christ and the teachings found in the Word of God, neglecting to teach the whole counsel of God is counterintuitive to the church. When we fail to teach on subject matters because they might offend, we do the Holy Spirit a disservice by refusing Him an opportunity to bring conviction to His people. Where the is no conviction, there is no repentance. Where there is no repentance, there is no salvation. Where there is no salvation, there is no church. Where there is no church, there is no truth. Where there is no truth, the people will perish without even knowing it. In the Old Testament, God held the priests responsible for Israel when they were in a backslidden state (Hos 4:6, 5:1-3). Because the New Testament church is a parallel of Old Testament Israel, we firmly believe that the shepherds of the church are responsible for the condition of the church.
